This new video shows the new system to load elevation layers and how osgVirtualPlanets deal with overlapping layers. Before this change gvSIG 3D (gvSIG 1.x series) cannot show the overlapping zones and the rendering was done using fixed pipeline, now (gvSIG 3D for gvSIG 2.0 series) this areas are merged in realtime in a terrain shader.
There are changes in lighting calculation that give the 3D view smooth shading feeling and a better appearance.
